Job Summary

 

The Marketing Communications Specialist works with key media outlets and consumer audiences as an integral part of a fast-paced marketing department. She/he partners with cross-functional teams on initiatives to meet established company goals and to promote Chase Your Dreams Academy mission. This position serves as an advocate to build and maintain positive community relations and relationships with the media with the goal of maintaining visibility and securing publicity for the events, programs, and activities of Chase Your Dreams Academy. The Marketing Communications Specialist develops project plans and initiates and implements PR campaigns, working collaboratively and pro-actively with internal and external partners, including all departments, our active volunteer base, girls, and community partners. The Marketing Communications Specialist is a motivated team player who demonstrates creativity, initiative, and strong written and verbal communication skills, and who has a record of success working with traditional and new media. This is a remote-based position and reports to the Senior Strategic Brand Architect. EOE/Committed to Diversity

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field with one to three years of relevant nonprofit, agency, or client experience
  • Strategic, conceptual, and creative thinker
  • Ability to plan and manage projects from the beginning to the end
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and great attention to detail in the composing, editing, and proofreading of materials
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office software, email marketing, and PowerPoint; experience updating websites
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and/or InDesign and digital photography (a plus)

The Fund Development Coordinator manages individual giving and annual fund initiatives within the fund development department. She/he coordinates and executes annual appeal mailings and supports a grassroots, fundraising effort in support of the Chase Your Dreams Academy mission. The Coordinator cultivates, solicits, and stewards current and prospective corporate, individual, and family donors. EOE/Committed to Diversity

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • One to Three years’ documented experience in annual giving and/or alumnae relations
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining annual gifts and developing relationships with board members and donors
  • Experience with prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, senior staff, volunteers, and the public
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Program Specialist

Job Summary

 

The Program Specialist applies expert knowledge of Chase Your Dreams programs to support volunteers and partners in delivering high-quality program experiences to a growing number and diversity of boys and girls ages 6-17. She/he assists in researching and communicating potential funding sources for program support. Major accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Being responsible for company-wide and program events
  • Developing program, leader support and training, and program opportunity participation and membership goals with the rest of the mission delivery team under direction of the Founder
  • Implementing, monitoring, and reporting outcome measurements for all programs
  • Experience with prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Recruiting, selecting, placing, training, supervising, and evaluating qualified program delivery volunteers to carry out program implementation and develop new programs based on council program priorities and the needs of boys and girls ages 6-17
  • Developing community support through program events, recruitment activities, and support of other mission delivery strategies
  • Providing support and guidance to service event coordinators to ensure high-quality Chase Your Dreams Academy leadership events
  • Providing support and guidance to coaches as they mentor new leaders
  • Providing support and guidance to volunteer adult learning facilitators as they train new leaders
  • Collaborating with key community partners and topic experts to provide opportunities to promote Chase Your Dreams Academy programs
  • Developing resource materials that help volunteers deliver quality programs
  • Ensuring high quality implementation by collaborating with volunteer services to ensure that volunteers understand the benefits that Chase Your Dreams Academy promises to boys and girls ages 6-17, know how to use Portfolio, and have tangible, ongoing support using the three Chase Your Dreams Academy processes (child-led, cooperative learning, and learning by doing)
  • Designing innovative approaches in the area of program delivery and identifying the need for additional support
  • Giving special attention to supporting boy and girls and volunteers for project and linking with community experts. Providing regular and convenient trainings for volunteers.
  • Developing and managing budgets to support program delivery
  • Marketing program opportunities and information through Chase Your Dreams Academy and external publications/methods
  • Collaborating with the fund development team to develop and implement fundraising strategies to support program projects
  • Contributing toward the effectiveness of the council AA/EEO guidelines by ensuring that program efforts reach out to all racial/ethnic groups and provide equal access; exhibiting knowledge and understanding of affirmative action and non-discriminatory attitude in all internal and external working relationships
  • Knowledge of the National Program Portfolio, Safety Activity Checkpoints, ACA standards, Texas Health Department regulations, and Chase Your Dreams Academy policies and standards, as well as the Chase Your Dreams Academy mission and strategic priorities and annual plan of work
  • Ensuring that all council operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws
  • Ensuring that diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated into the work of the Chase Your Dreams Academy
  • Establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with donors, members, volunteers, staff and community contacts

Volunteer Services Services Specialist

Job Summary

 

The Volunteer Services Specialist oversees the recruitment, training, and recognition of volunteers. She/he oversees the process of volunteer role planning and development with all departments, including the creation of clear accountabilities for staff in the management and support of volunteers; implements the planning, designing, developing, and delivery of adult learning opportunities to meet the needs of volunteers in the area(s) assigned for the recruitment, education, and direction of the volunteer learning support team; updates and revises education materials consistent with the organizational policies; and implements and maintains Chase Your Dreams Academy’s volunteer management system for identifying and implementing creative strategies to attract and retain volunteers in all positions who reflect the diversity of the council adult population for the area(s). Major accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the recruitment of volunteers from diverse and emerging populations using multiple innovative strategies and methodologies and ensuring company-wide alignment of strategy, target-audience needs, and timeline
  • Developing, implementing, and overseeing all components of an efficient and effective volunteer management system, including recruitment, screening, appointment, preparation, support, recognition, evaluation, re-engagement, and tracking and reporting of volunteer-related data
  • Coordinating with other departments to increase Chase Your Dreams Academy’s visibility in the community and foster interest in volunteer opportunities
  • Working with all departments to create and market role-specific learning opportunities and resources that can be delivered in multiple ways that are ongoing, fun, and adaptable to different volunteer styles—and that are effective in preparing volunteers)
  • Recognizing volunteers in formal and informal ways throughout the year, and creating a culture of appreciation in which all volunteers feel valued
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting adult learning facilitators for all skill areas
  • Initiating and supervising a variety of impactful short-term volunteer opportunities
  • Increasing parental participation by recruiting and retaining volunteers for all operational positions
  • Retaining troop leaders by supervising follow-up with new leaders on required training and support
  • Keeping current with educational trends and adhering to Chase Your Dreams Academy’s educational guidelines for learning facilitators
  • Implementing integrated objectives, action steps, and budgets for volunteer services functions
  • Working to retain troop leaders by supervising follow-up with new leaders on required training and support
  • Establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with donors, members, volunteers, staff, and community contacts

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of three years’ experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of techniques for adult volunteer recruitment, training, management, recognition, and retention
  • Knowledge of adult education principles, practices, and techniques; and of instructional and/or curriculum design
  • Commitment to the mission and purpose of Chase Your Dreams Academy
  • Ability to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce results
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable with electronic media and the ability to use the Internet successfully
  • Valid driver’s license, daily access to an automobile in good working condition, proof of liability insurance
